Alvin Jaworski, is a 71-year-old fun loving man from Pennsylvania who likes collecting toy trains and baseball cards. He was diagnosed with NAFLD about six years ago. The NAFLD (Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease) has developed into cirrhosis of the liver which has caused him to pass out numerous times. Alvin has lost about 80 pounds and his health has taken a drastic turn for the worse in the last few months. Few months back, his doctor told him he has less than six months to live without a liver transplant. Since then his wife, Kathleen Jaworski, is trying desperately, in every possible way to get a donor for her husband. Many friends, neighbors even a few strangers have come together to help her find a living liver donor. Kathleen now is hoping for a miracle. Eligible donors must be between the ages of 18 and 55, and in good health, according to UPMC guidelines. They must be the same blood type as the recipient, O+ in Alvin Jaworski’s case. Do you have the desire to save a life? Maybe God gave us the opportunity, to give part of our organ to be angels to people who need it most. Livers are able to regenerate, so the liver donated will eventually grow back to full size in approximately 6-8 weeks…This is the biggest act of kindness a person can ever do….
