13-YEAR’S OLD IS TOO YOUNG TO LOOK FOR A KIDNEY!
Charley Furrh will turn 13 this October. She was born with only one functioning kidney. In a tragic turn of events, during surgery after her birth, a doctor removed her only functioning kidney. That incident left her with no kidney function and in need of a transplant. Fortunately, a living donor gave her a kidney that functioned well for about ten years. It had to be removed, recently, after it stopped working. Charley is now on hemodialysis treatments, at Children’s Hospital in Dallas for five days a week, until another kidney becomes available. The doctors say, there is only a 1% chance of finding a match – globally. If you’re in good health and have a strong desire to save a life, visit https://www.kidney.org for more information.
