Josh Prymych is an amazing man yet In 2017, he was diagnosed with “Autosomal Recessive Alport Syndrome” – a genetic condition characterized by kidney disease, hearing loss, and eye abnormalities. Most affected individuals with this condition experience progressive loss of kidney function, usually resulting in end-stage kidney disease. Alports is an inherited disorder of the basement membrane of the kidneys over time. It causes Josh to have a significant loss in function of the kidneys. These are both of his kidneys. Currently, his kidneys are working at less than 5 percent. He is now on dialysis for 9 hours a day. Josh needs a kidney transplant. A kidney from a living kidney donor whose blood type is either O – or O +.
