An artist and an art worker Lucille Atlookan was only 24 when she was first diagnosed with Lupus – a disease that occurs when your body’s immune system attacks your own tissues and organs (autoimmune disease). Lupus lead to chronic kidney disease. For the past few years, Lucille’s kidney condition has been declining. At present she is having her PD ( Peritoneal Dialysis) – a treatment for kidney failure that uses the lining of your abdomen, or belly, to filter your blood inside your body. This treatment has made her condition steady for now but she is unwell. Lucille Atlookan from Canada is searching for a living kidney donor to restore her health and to begin truly living again.
