  • MARK FROM MARYLAND NEEDS A LIVING KIDNEY DONOR!

A county pillar now clings to survival.

Mark Cullison — a beloved lifelong resident of Great Mills, Maryland and a key member of the community — is battling end-stage renal failure. Dialysis now dominates his life, and his only hope is a living kidney donor. The family is fighting hard — but they can’t wage this battle alone.

⚠️ What’s Driving the Crisis

  • Mark was diagnosed with kidney disease in April 2023, and a biopsy complication worsened his condition.
  • He now endures four-hour dialysis sessions three times a week — merely prolonging life, not restoring it.
  • His blood type is O positive (O+) — the most common type, yet still hard to find a perfect match.
  • If a suitable donor isn’t found, his days of walking freely, working at Great Mills Trading Post, and being present for his wife and grandchildren may vanish.
  • Even donors of other blood types might help via paired-kidney exchange programs through Hopkins or UofMD.

🔥 How You Can Be the Lifeline

  • Get tested as a living kidney donor. Even if you don’t match directly, you may still help through donor exchange.
  • Call the transplant coordinator: 410-614-9345 to begin evaluation.
  • Fill out a donor candidate form at Johns Hopkins Medicine or UofMD.
  • Share Mark’s story—in your networks, workplaces, community groups—to amplify his call for help.
