I’M MARC AND NEED A KIDNEY…

My name is Marc Weiner. I was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2015, which is rare for a 50-year-old man who never smoked. The cancer was aggressive and spread to both of my kidneys. Fortunately, I am here to tell my story…

Surgeons removed the cancer but in doing so had to remove both of my kidneys and my bladder. I have been cancer free for 2 years, but I must undergo hours of debilitating dialysis 3 times every week. This is the only way I can stay alive. Without a functional kidney I cannot live a full and normal life.

My illness does not define me. I have a beautiful 12-year-old daughter and fantastic wife who support me on this wild journey. Although it is challenging, I have tried to maintain an award-winning career in TV News and stay as engaged in life as possible. Each day I push to be positive and make the best of what is not an easy situation.

Plain and Simple: I need a kidney!

Receiving a kidney transplant would put my life on a positive path. I’d be healthy, could resume work and activities, I could spend more time with family and friends. And, most importantly, it will allow me to live longer, since dialysis takes a tremendous toll on my body.

Are you the needle in a haystack? Finding a kidney donor match isn’t easy. But the difference it will make is so great, that I need to cast a wide net – kind of like finding a needle in a haystack.

I can live a complete, full and normal life with one kidney. And a donor can also go back to his or her complete, full and normal life quite easily after the transplant.

You can help save a life… My Life.
Take the first step. You can change, and save, my life. I am grateful just for your consideration. Here’s what you can do to see if you’re a match:
