Emily DeVito is a 33-year-old mother of 4½-year-old twins, a wife, a daughter, and a sister living in Albany, New York. She works in public service at the Capital District Transportation Authority after previously working as a journalist at WNYT.
Outside of work, Emily is deeply involved in her community through St. Pius X Church in Loudonville, the Capital District Food Pantries, and Donate Life of New York.
Emily is currently facing kidney failure caused by a hereditary disease, polycystic kidney disease (PKD). She recently learned that her kidney function has declined rapidly and that she will need to begin hemodialysis within the next 1–2 months.
Emily is now urgently in need of a living kidney donor and is listed for transplant at Massachusetts General Hospital.
A life-saving transplant would give her the chance to watch her children grow up, continue serving her community, and build the future her family deserves.
