Dave Petersen is a musician from Philadelphia. Dave was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) at 18. Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) is a condition in which clusters of cysts grow in the body, mainly in the kidneys. Over time, the cysts may cause the kidneys to get bigger and stop working. PKD is most often passed through families. In Dave’s case, clusters of cysts that formed around his kidneys were so large (66 pounds) that the organs eventually had to be removed in January this year. Dave has been on dialysis since July 2023, three times a week. He is in dire need of a kidney from a living donor.
